I’m Ray Scott, a Marine veteran, and I’m excited to share my powerful testimony of faith, hope, and miraculous healing with you.

Through my story, my book Faith, Cancer, God’s Miracle, and my outreach, I reveal how God’s grace transformed my life and how I, an ordinary man, discovered extraordinary purpose through unwavering faith in God’s plan.

A Marine’s Powerful Testimony of Faith and Miracles

Doctors gave me a grim prognosis—but what happened next was nothing short of miraculous.

After my service in the Marine Corps, I faced a life-changing battle with Stage 4 colon cancer, given just 18 months to live. Relying on my faith in God and the unwavering strength I learned as a Marine, I endured multiple surgeries, rounds of chemotherapy, and countless challenges.

In 1994, after being told there was no hope for recovery, I experienced a miraculous healing at a faith crusade where I prayed for a young child instead of myself. That moment transformed my life, deepening my faith and inspiring me to share my testimony of God’s grace, strength, and healing with others.

Strength Through God, Country, and Corps

Since the end of my enlistment from the Marine Corps in 1987 and my return to civilian life, it has been mentioned to me several times that being a Marine and being a Christian is a contradiction. I have found that the ordinary person views the Marine as a strong, tough and non-spiritual individual. If only the ordinary person realized what our motto is “GOD-COUNTRY-CORPS.”

The same training that enables us to be steadfast in our decisions, that results in strength for others in times of turmoil and chaos, that gives us the determination to see through adversities or overcome difficulties, and that gives us character, is the same training needed to develop a strong personal faith in Christ.

When I was hit with the diagnosis of Colon Cancer in June of 1992, I immediately fell back on the two strong holds I knew I had. First was my faith in our God and His ability to provide inner strength and see me through anything. Second was, “Once a Marine, Always a Marine”, and with that comes all the mental toughness to continue to fight when all seems for naught.

Bulldog Faith is the unwavering resolve, born from the experience and strength of the Holy Spirit, that empowers this Marine to honor God and inspire others. Read more about me here.

The verses that fuel this faith continually encourage and inspire me to stay strong in my walk with Christ and to share His love with the world. Amen!

Comfort and Encourage and Strengthen your hearts [keeping them steadfast and on course] in every good work and word

Christian Conduct
Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to appreciate those who diligently work around you, [recognize, acknowledge, and respect your leaders] who are in charge over you in the Lord and who give you instruction.

Semper Fidelis / Always Faithful God Country Corps
But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory [and my honor], and the One who lifts my head.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh [and died for us], arm yourselves [like warriors] with the same purpose [being willing to suffer for doing what is right and pleasing God], because whoever has suffered in the flesh [being like-minded with Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [having stopped pleasing the world],

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and
empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

in [speaking] the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand [like holding the sword to attack] and for the left [like holding the shield to defend],

Comfort and Encourage and Strengthen your hearts [keeping them Steadfast and on course] in every good work and word.

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].

Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity
Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my great strength, Who trains my hands for war And my fingers for battle;

On Life and Conduct
A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold.

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.

Pay to all what is due: tax to whom tax is due, customs to whom customs, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor.

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; my rock and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues the peoples under me.

Therefore, see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people],

A wise man is strong, And a man of knowledge strengthens his power;

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the evil one.
